Steps to apply:
- Apply to St. Johns River State College as an Associate in Arts degree seeking student, submit required admissions documentation and pay application fee.
- Contact Counseling to schedule the free college placement test then meet with an advisor.
- Apply for financial aid at FAFSA.ed.gov.
- Once cleared through counseling, register for the following classes:
CHD 1220 - Child Development for Teachers of Young Children
EEC 1001 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education
EEC 2401 - Home and Community
In addition to the three courses, completion of the FCCPC portfolio and documented 480 hours of experience in a child care setting is required to receive the FCCPC. (Details to be discussed in class!)
In addition to the FCCPC, we also offer the FLORIDA CHILD CARE DIRECTOR CREDENTIAL (FCCDC). This credential consists of the following additional class:
