MEDICAL ASSISTING

Career and Technical Certificate

It’s the best of both worlds! In one year, gain the skills to perform administrative and clinical duties in a variety of medical settings. Duties include but are not limited to phlebotomy (drawing blood), electrocardiograph aide, taking vital signs, medical billing and records.

Medical assistants are employed in acute care hospitals, outpatient, ambulatory care facilities, medical offices and clinics. This certificate provides a pathway for students to continue in the Nursing and Allied health program tracks.

Program pending Board approval.

Prospective students are encouraged to attend one of the following information sessions:

Palatka campus - May 7 at 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., room L130

Orange Park campus - May 9 at 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., room H1112

St. Augustine campus - May 14 at 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., room H123
