SJR State College offering Health Careers Core class St. Johns River State College will hold registration through December 17 for its upcoming Health Careers Core class. Registration will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at all campuses. Students must meet with a workforce specialist prior to registration. A full refund for withdrawal from the course is available through January 10 only. Classes for the Health Careers Core course will be held Monday through Thursday evenings on the Orange Park campus from January 7 through February 14, 2013. The Health Careers Core course is a prerequisite for the phlebotomy program, which will be offered on the Orange Park campus beginning February 21. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED and be a resident of Putnam, Clay or St. Johns counties. Applicants must also complete an application to SJR State College and pay the application fee prior to registration. Applicants should also complete the residency affidavit and turn in acceptable forms of identification. This training activity is supported through a Community-Based Jobs Training grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
