SJR State Trustees appoint vice chair

The St. Johns River State College Board of Trustees appointed John Nelson as their vice chairman during the June Board meeting. Nelson, representing Putnam County, has served on the Board since 2009.

Nelson said he looks forward to his role as vice chairman. "It is an honor to serve alongside a president and fellow Board members who take unwavering steps to ensure the institution is doing the best job possible," Nelson said. "We are all striving to make a difference."

Nelson succeeds Trustee Rob Bradley, of Clay County, as vice chair. The Board also voted Diane Leone, of St. Johns County, as chair for a second consecutive year. Leone has served on the Board since 2005.

Currently serving on the Board is Denise Bramlitt and Mary Ellen Webb representing Putnam County; Col. Mickey Duran representing St. Johns County; and Rob Bradley and Ron Coleman representing Clay County.
