Dance classes offered to the public

St. Johns River State College will offer open elective dance classes this fall on the Palatka and Orange Park campuses.  Students interested in awakening their dance talent can now take classes designed for the beginning and intermediate level dancer.  The classes are one to two credit hours each and are open to the public.   Classes offered this semester include:

Orange Park campus (classes meet at Thrasher-Horne Center)
Fundamentals of Ballet – 10:00 – 10:50 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
Fundamentals of Tap Dance I – 11:00 - 11:50 a.m., Mondays and Wednesdays 
Fundamentals of Jazz Dance – 11:00 – 11:50 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays

Palatka campus (classes meet at Florida School of the Arts)
Fundamentals of Ballet – 9:00 – 9:50 a.m., Mondays and Wednesdays
Dance Conditioning – 9:00 – 9:50 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
Fundamentals of Jazz Dance – 1:00 – 1:50 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays

Acceptance into the Florida School of the Arts is not a requirement for these classes. However, students must have applied and been accepted to St. Johns River State College before registering for the class. Classes begin August 24 and run through December 11.
