Application deadlines near for SJR State’s health care programs

St. Johns River State College will accept applications for the Radiologic Technology and Health Information Technology programs through May 15. Classes for these limited access programs will begin in August and are based on the St. Augustine campus with additional components online or in selected health care facilities within the region. Upon successful completion of these programs, students are eligible to sit for their respective state and/or national certification examinations.

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who want to take their education and skills to the next level are encouraged to apply for SJR State’s LPN to RN bridge program.  Completion of the program provides students 10 college credit hours toward an associate in science degree in nursing. Graduates are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

Students may enroll in the LPN to RN bridge program full time or part time.  Applications will be accepted June 1-30, with core courses to begin in August. Admission requirements, including prerequisite courses and the HESI exam, must be completed prior to application.

Associate in science degree in nursing graduates who hold a current, valid unencumbered Florida Registered Nursing (RN) license and wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing are encouraged to attend one of several information sessions offered for the program this spring.  Students may enroll full time or part time in the program, which will be delivered primarily online with some courses requiring on-campus activities.  Applications are available online at
