St. Johns River State College in-fielder Savannah Montgomery was recently featured as the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Softball Player of the Week. A freshman from Lakeland, Florida, Savannah and has built a winning reputation on the field. In the 44 games in which Savannah has played this season, she has produced 36 runs, 29 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. Her .345 batting average includes three home runs, one triple and 10 doubles for the season. Defensively, Savannah has a .871 fielding percentage with four double plays so far this season.

“Savannah is the true definition of a student-athlete,” said SJR State Head Softball Coach Katie Brosky. “She is outstanding in the classroom and on the field. She devotes many hours to pursuing excellence at everything she does, and we are very proud of her. We are thrilled that Savannah is a Viking!”
