SJR State students honored at annual awards ceremony - Palatka

Dr. Lott Memorial Scholarship award

St. Johns River State College administrators, faculty and staff recently gathered to honor students on the Palatka campus for their local, state and national academic achievements and participation in campus activities. 

Cletis Avery, Johnny Craig Jr., Lindsey Hayes and Julianne Leduc each received the SJR State Hall of Fame award. The Hall of Fame award is presented each year to a select number of students who are recommended by faculty for their academic excellence and extracurricular involvement.

Students recognized for Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges were: Dawn Averett, Cletis Avery, Kaitlin Nicole Brock, Johnny Craig Jr., Matthew Davis, Jared Frederick, Hunter Hayes, Lindsey Hayes, Dustin Hersey, Benoit Lamoureux, Julianne Leduc, Astrid Rodriguez and Omar Villaman.

The Dr. Gary B. Lott Memorial Scholarship, in honor of the late SJR State administrator, was awarded to Allyson Anderson and Leda Balch.

Leda Balch was also presented the Florida School of the Arts award for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
 
Additional academic awards and recognition of Phi Theta Kappa honor society members and club members for the Campus Crusade for Christ, the Catholic Student Union, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Student Government Association , were also presented. SJR State’s active campus life is an open door for students to meet new people and take part in a dynamic teamwork and leadership capacity in clubs and organizations.  These clubs and organizations provide extracurricular activities on campus and an opportunity for the students to participate in community service projects.
