Dance classes offered to the public

Florida School of the Arts will offer a select number of elective classes next spring on St. Johns River State College’s Orange Park campus.  Students interested in awakening their artistic talents can now take classes designed for the beginning and intermediate levels.  The classes are credit courses and are open to the public.   Classes offered for the spring semester include:

Orange Park campus (classes meet at the Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts)
Fundamentals of Ballet I (DAA 1200) – M&W, 10:00 – 10:50 a.m.
Fundamentals of Ballet II (DAA 1201) – M&W, 10:00 – 11:15 a.m.
Fundamentals of Contemporary Dance I (DAA 1100) – M&W, 11:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
Fundamentals of Jazz I (DAA 1500) – M&W, 1:00 – 1:50 p.m.
Fundamentals of Jazz II (DAA 1501) – M&W, 1:00 – 2:15 p.m.
Acceptance into the Florida School of the Arts is not a requirement for these classes.  However, students must have applied and been accepted to St. Johns River State College before registering for the class.  Classes begin January 9.  For more information, call the Florida School of the Arts at (386) 312-4300 or visit the College website at
