SJR State registering for Nursing Assistant Class
St. Johns River State College will hold registration June 1 through June 22 for the nursing assistant class. Classes for the Palatka campus program will begin on June 26 and will be held Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. through August 1, 2017. Clinicals will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. August 2 through August 9, 2017.
The program entails seven weeks of course work, lab hours and clinical work. Upon completion of the program, students who have a high school diploma or GED are eligible to apply for the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) examination.
Those planning to attend the class must complete a background check, drug screening, recent physical with shot records (including influenza), and current TB test prior to the first day of class. A full refund of college tuition and fees is available if withdrawn from course by June 29 only. The refund does not include background check/drug screen, physical/immunizations and uniforms.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, complete an application to SJR State and pay the application fee prior to registration. Applicants should also complete the residency affidavit and turn in acceptable forms of identification.
