SJR State students honored at annual awards ceremony
St. Johns River State College administrators, faculty and staff recently gathered to honor students on the Palatka campus for their their academic achievements and participation in club activities.
Vice President for Development and External Affairs Caroline Tingle presented the Dr. Gary B. Lott Memorial Scholarship to Jess Motes. Dr. Lott served as an administrator at SJR State for 25 years.
Additional students were honored for their academic excellence. The Milton Speaks Science Award was presented to Emily Norrey. Nadine Jewell was the recipient of the Nora Michaels English Award.
Additional recognition went to representatives of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, the nursing club and the Student Government Association. SJR State’s active campus life is an open door for students to meet new people and take part in a dynamic teamwork and leadership capacity in clubs and organizations. These clubs and organizations provide extracurricular activities on campus and an opportunity for the students to participate in community service projects.
