  TRANSIENT STUDENTS

TRANSIENT STUDENTS

Transient students are currently enrolled college students who register for courses at another institution on a temporary basis (ex: university student attending summer semester at a community college).

Students use this option to take a class or classes if: their "home" college or university does not offer a class they need/desire; they need a more flexible class schedule; or they are residing in the service area of  another college for an extended period of time. On-line classes are also eligible to meet these conditions.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be in good academic standing and currently enrolled at home school;
  • Successfully completed any applicable prerequisites for the course(s) in which you plan to enroll
  • Approved transient application

Restrictions:

  • Financial aid is most often not available for transient students. Consult with your home school financial aid office;
  • Academic department approval must be obtained in order to register for program restricted courses;
  • Transient students are subject to the same registration (add/drop/withdrawal) and academic standing policies that apply to 223degree-seeking students;
  • Transient student registration does not imply acceptance to the college as a degree seeking student;
  • A transcript with the final grade(s) for a course(s) taken as a transient student must be requested from the transient school to be sent back to your home school
