SJR STATE ALERT
HURRICANE IDALIA: August 30 - 12:30 p.m.
SJR State’s classes will resume and all campuses and offices will reopen on Thursday, August 31, at regularly scheduled times. Any changes to this plan will be communicated through Alertus, email, text messages, social media and our website.
TROPICAL STORM IDALIA: August 29 - 5:00 p.m.
SJR State will close all campuses Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. All Tuesday classes that begin after 3 p.m., including online and Live online, will be cancelled. The college will remain closed through Wednesday, August 30. Thrasher-Horne Center will also close at 3 p.m. Tuesday and remain closed through Wednesday. The volleyball games will be rescheduled.
The college will continue to monitor the situation and have another update no later than 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 30.
Alerts will be provided through the College website, email, text alerts, the SJR State Facebook page and local media.
Now is a good time to gather your hurricane supplies, know your evacuation zones and sign up for SJR State’s emergency notifications. This is a free service provided by the College. To receive emergency notifications, log into the MySJRSTATE portal and click on the link “ Register for Emergency Notifications” located under the “Emergency Procedures and Security Contact Information” and follow the instructions.
