WEEKEND FILM CHALLENGE MARCH 8-10, 2024

Middle school and high school students are invited!

The Weekend Film Challenge is a 55-hour adventure of teamwork and creativity. This year’s challenge presents two categories: middle school and high school. Teams from each category will have the chance to compete for cash prizes.

First Place Team: $250.00
Second Place Team: $100.00
Third Place Team: $50.00

Details and guidelines for the films, video submission instructions, and a Zoom link for the kickoff event will be sent to the email address listed on the team’s form.

Deadline: Monday, March 4 - 5:00 p.m.

KICKOFF EVENT
FRIDAY, MARCH 8, 2024 at 5:00 P.M.
During the Zoom meeting, each team will receive their film’s genre and the list of required elements in a random drawing. To qualify as an official entry, each group’s film must contain all required elements assigned.

The finished film (without slates and credits) must run a maximum of three minutes in duration. Participating teams must conceive, create, and successfully upload their films no later than Sunday, March 10, 2024 by 11:59 p.m.

The 2024 FloArts Film Festival will debut March 29-30, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at Florida School of the Arts. Audience members will cast their vote during the festival for first, second, and third place. Winners will be announced at the end of the final screening on March 30, 2024. Winners not in attendance will be notified via email and arrangements will be made for award recipients.
