The BAS in Performance Design and Production provides hands-on training in live event production, preparing students for careers in technical theatre, stage design, production management, and entertainment technology. This program is ideal for students with backgrounds in performance or technical theatre who want to expand their skill set and work behind the scenes. Students gain real-world experience through productions within the Florida School of the Arts.
Graduates can work in:
- Audio, Projection & Lighting Technology
- Scenic & Costume Design
- Theme Park & Cruise Ship Production
- Live Event & Theatre Production
- Video Editing & Production Management
Students must have an A.A. or A.S. in Theater and Entertainment Technology with a specialization in Costume Technology or Technical Theater. Once admitted:
- A.A. students complete 18 credit hours of lower-division program core courses.
- A.S. students complete 18 credit hours of lower-division general education coursework.
- All students complete 42 credit hours of upper-division courses, totaling 120 semester hours.
An optional teaching track is available for students interested in teaching K-12.
