SJR State EMT program accepting applications

St. Johns River State College will accept applications for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program through October 15.  Classes will begin in January. The program includes a blended format of online and classroom work with field experiences.

The EMT program is designed to prepare students to perform at the basic pre-hospital EMT level and treat various medical/trauma conditions. The semester-long program prepares students for certification as EMTs in accordance with Chapter 64J of the Florida Administrative Code, the initial level for a career in emergency medical services and the primary prerequisite for paramedic training and certification. The college credit certificate program articulates into SJR State’s Paramedic program.

Classes will be held on the Orange Park campus. Field internships in Clay, Putnam and St. Johns counties will provide hands-on, life-saving practical experience where students will master lifesaving skills.
