Gov. Scott appoints three to SJR State Board
St. Johns River State College welcomes its newest members of the District Board of Trustees. Governor Rick Scott announced the appointments of Leslie Dougher, James Reid, and Reverend Bobby Crum and the reappointment of Board Chairman, Sam Garrison.
SJR State President Joe Pickens, J.D., said the College welcomes its newest representatives and honors the service of the outgoing Trustees. "We are honored to welcome these dedicated and talented individuals to our Board," Pickens said. "Their impressive backgrounds, professional successes and community connections will be a positive contribution to our students, the College and its future growth."
Pickens said the College was fortunate to have had the outstanding foresight and direction of Board members Denise Bramlitt and Marlene Lagasse, whose leadership made a permanent and positive impact on the College.
Dougher, 55, of Green Cove Springs, is a realtor with Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty. She received her bachelor’s degree from Columbia College. Dougher succeeds Bramlitt and is appointed for a term beginning December 6, 2018 and ending May 31, 2022.
Reid, 59, of Palatka, is a certified public accountant in private practice. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. Reid succeeds Lagasse and is appointed for a term beginning December 6, 2018 and ending May 31, 2019.
Reverend Crum, 48, of St. Augustine, is a pastor of Anastasia Baptist Church. He received his bachelor’s degree from Radford University and his master’s from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Reverend Crum fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning December 6, 2018 and ending May 31, 2021.
Garrison, 41, of Fleming Island, is a partner at Kopelousos, Bradley, Garrison, and Komando P.A. He received his bachelor’s degree from Samford University and his juris doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Law. Garrison is reappointed for a term beginning December 6, 2018 and ending May 31, 2022.
Currently serving on the District Board of Trustees is Vice Chairman Wendell Davis and Brian Keith.
