SJR State to honor graduates December 19
St. Johns River State College will celebrate its fall commencement on December 19. The College will acknowledge the associate and baccalaureate degree candidates, as well as its certificate candidates, from the Orange Park, Palatka and St. Augustine campuses.
The ceremony is set for 10:00 a.m. at the Thrasher-Horne Center located on the SJR State Orange Park campus. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Commencement tickets will be required for guests. There is a four-ticket limit per graduate. Additional tickets may be available starting December 16 through the Thrasher-Horne Center box office.
SJR State President Joe Pickens, J.D., has announced Judge John Alexander, 7th Circuit Administrative Judge for Family Court, as the commencement speaker. Judge Alexander is a 1974 alumnus of SJR State. He also earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and a juris doctor from Ohio Northern University. His past judicial assignments include criminal, civil, probate, juvenile and domestic relations.
The Thrasher-Horne Center is owned and operated by SJR State and is located on the Orange Park campus at 283 College Drive.
