Info sessions set for new Medical Assisting program
St. Johns River State College will hold information sessions for its latest program – Medical Assisting. The program length is 3 semesters with 1,300 hours of medical assisting courses. Classes will begin in August in Palatka. Clinical experiences will be selected within and around the tri-county service areas of SJR State.
The program prepares students to perform administrative and clinical duties, including, but not limited to phlebotomy (drawing blood), electrocardiograph aide, taking vital signs, and medical billing and records.
Prospective students are encouraged to attend one of the following information sessions:
Palatka campus - June 4 at 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., room L130
and June 10 at 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., room L130
Orange Park campus - June 6 at 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., room H1112
Applications will be available online between May 1 and June 15.
