Vikings Volleyball wins first state championship

For the first time in St. Johns River State College history, the Vikings volleyball team has claimed the state championship. The Vikings won the Florida College Systems Activities Association (FCSAA) Region 8 Division II championship on Saturday with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-21 victory over Lake-Sumter State College at the state tournament held in Ft. Pierce.

The Vikings will travel to Iowa Nov. 19 for the Division II national tournament.
