SOLE SOURCE AND SINGLE SOURCE PURCHASES

Sole Source and Single Source purchases are exempt from competitive procurement per St Johns River State College (SJR State) Rule #4.07, and Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 6A-14.0734(2)(e) and 6A-14.0734(2)(h).

A Sole Source purchase occurs when only one supplier can provide the commodity, technology and/or perform the services required by an agency; therefore, it is not possible to obtain competition.

A Single Source purchase occurs when two or more vendors can supply the commodity, technology and /or perform the services required by an agency, and the agency selects a vendor for the purposes of economy or efficiency.

SJR State posts current Sole Source and Single Source opportunities $65,000 or greater on the SJR State purchasing website for 72 hours. During this 72-hour period, public comments and/or suggestions related to the Sole/Single Source opportunities are welcomed, and can be submitted to . Public comments and/or suggestions will only be considered during the public posting period.
