RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY

Holly

HOLLY, WHAT INSPIRED YOUR INTEREST IN RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY?
It was inspired by my desire to help people. I knew I wanted to join the health care field; it just took a while to figure out exactly where I belonged.

WHAT WAS YOUR PREVIOUS CAREER AND WHAT PROMPTED A CAREER CHANGE?
I previously worked at a manufacturing company, making wiring for aircrafts. "My career changed was prompted by the need to do more, the need to help people."

Manufacturing was doing the same thing every single day, but as a Radiologic Technologist, I would see different things every day.

WHY DID YOU SELECT SJR STATE FOR YOUR TRAINING?
I chose SJR State for my training because they have a high rate of people passing the course and ultimately passing the ARRT exam.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR TRAINING AT SJR STATE SO FAR?
The instructors have made the training at SJR State the best. Also, the clinical sites have all had welcoming and genuine people who seem like they really want all the students to succeed.

WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE MOST CHALLENGING ABOUT THE PROGRAM?
I would say the course load would be the most challenging. It definitely seems overwhelming at times.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS JOURNEY?
I learned that I am pretty capable of handling anything. Though it was challenging balancing a family, a job and the training, it was not impossible.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THOSE CONTEMPLATING ENROLLING IN THIS PROGRAM?
I would say to just get in there and do it.

WHAT ARE YOUR CAREER GOALS AFTER COMPLETING THE PROGRAM?
After the program, I want to get my certification in mammography. I did some observation of mammography, and I think I could have a successful career in that area.
