Social Media Ambassador Program


What is a Social Media Ambassador?
The SJR State Social Media Ambassador program is a unique employment opportunity for current students designed to gain professional social media experience by sharing their perspectives. As an ambassador, you’ll attend and document campus events, create engaging content, and showcase what it truly means to be a Viking. Your content will be featured on the College’s official social media accounts, helping connect current and prospective students to life at SJR State—because who better to tell the story than YOU?

What’s Required?
To be a Social Media Ambassador, you must:

  • Be enrolled at SJR State at least half-time (6+ credit hours during fall and spring semesters)
  • Meet all SJR State student employment requirements, including half-time enrollment (6+ credit hours in fall and spring) and having a FAFSA on file
  • Commit to the position for at least one entire semester
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Desire to learn more about social media
  • Follow SJR State’s social media policies and best practices
  • Dedicate 4-5 hours per week to content creation, event coverage and editing

We’re looking for students who are:

  • Active on campus and engaged in student life
  • Creative and enthusiastic
  • Interested in marketing, communications, photography or videography
  • Up to date on social media trends
  • Passionate about sharing the SJR State experience

Ambassadors are selected at the end of each summer term for the upcoming fall semester and at the end of each fall term for the upcoming spring semester. However, you’re welcome to submit the form anytime, and we’ll reach out when opportunities become available.
