DUAL ENROLLMENT TESTING
In order to begin the Dual Enrollment program at SJR State, students must provide test scores. SJR State accepts the PERT, Pre-ACT, ACT, PSAT, or SAT. Test scores must be less than two years old (Florida Statue 1008.30). Students will not need a specific test score in order to begin Dual Enrollment, they will just need a full set of test scores. But a college-ready test score is needed in order for student to take some specific courses.
Students who wish to enroll in an English/Communications or Mathematics course must have a college-ready, qualifying score. Students may use placement tests, alternative methods, or performance in high school coursework to achieve a college-ready score (please see charts below for scoring). For ENC 1101, students must have both the qualifying reading and writing score. Scores can be combined in order to obtain a set of college-ready scores. For example a student could use a qualifying score on the PERT Reading and a qualifying score on the ACT Writing in order to take ENC 1101. For questions regarding placement or Dual Enrollment testing, please call the SJR State DE Office at (386) 312-4136 or email us at .
Dual Enrollment students who have not taken the Pre-ACT, ACT, PSAT or SAT, may register to take the PERT through one of SJR State’s Testing Center locations.
