SJR State has witnessed remarkable growth over the past 60 years. You can help change the lives of others forever and strengthen the future of our community with your annual gift of $500 or more to the President’s Circle.

SJR State receives its funding from tuition and fees, and state aid. Because state funding resources have decreased dramatically over the past several years, the College relies on annual fund contributions to broaden the range of available resources.

Beyond the satisfaction of giving to a vital and growing institution, your gift will offer tangible rewards. You will help us provide student scholarships to individuals from all walks of life, and you will help prepare a strong future workforce right here in your own community. When you give to the President’s Circle, we will put your dollars to work immediately. Your gift will help students, develop new programs, and meet the education and training needs of our vital area.

To learn more about the President's Circle, print out the PRESIDENT’S CIRCLE BROCHURE (PDF). You may fill out the donation form and mail it to the Foundation office or call us directly at (386) 312-4100.

SJR State draws students with diverse cultural, educational and economic backgrounds. Most of the students require some form of financial assistance during their enrollment. Through the Foundation, deserving students receive scholarships, tuition assistance and help to cover costs associated with textbooks and other educational materials.

An annual scholarship provides a yearly award to students who meet the criteria established by you and the College. The scholarship may be established as a one-time gift with the awards being made until the funds are diminished, or the donor may contribute the amount of the award every year. Designate your dollars for a particular scholarship fund or program or initiate your own scholarship compatible with your specific educational interests.

  • Current Use Scholarships: $1,000 or more annually
  • Endowed Scholarships: $25,000 or more ENDOWMENTS

The Foundation provides supplemental support to the College to meet financial needs not covered by state funding alone. These include professional development, technology and skills training, equipment and facility acquisitions, and enhancements to academic and workforce programs. This support is critical for SJR State to remain a current and vital resource to its students.

SJR State departments create Foundation-managed accounts that are used to raise donations for targeted needs and programs. A program fund provides the opportunity to develop outside funding and partnerships with companies and organizations. Some of the departments include:

Athletics
Florida School of the Arts
Thrasher-Horne Center
Library
Student Clubs/Organizations
Arts and Sciences

An endowment fund is a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding. Endowment assets are invested, and each year a portion of the earnings is paid out for the purpose of the fund with the remainder being used to build the fund’s market value. In this way, an endowment fund can grow and can provide support for its designated purpose in perpetuity. When you establish an endowment fund, you create a permanent legacy of support for SJR State. Visit our Endowment page for more detailed information. ENDOWMENTS
