SJR State corrections cadets recognized
Hellen Duque (Highest Academic Achiever), Hunter Allison (Most Proficient in Firearms) and Criminal Justice instructor John Jock.
Cadets from the St. Johns River State College Criminal Justice Academy were recently recognized for completing the Florida Corrections Officer Academy program.
The guest speaker was Jason Caban, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Director of Corrections.
During the ceremony, Hellen Duque received the award for Highest Academic Achiever. Hunter Allison received the award for Most Proficient in Firearms.
The graduates include Stephanie Alberto, Hunter Allison, Ashleigh Campau, Jordan Clemmons, Britany Coleman, Angel Correa, Hellen Duque, Thomas Harpe, John Rathbun, Ta’Various Robinson, Tabatha Teeters and Jonathan Wilson.
Located at the St. Augustine campus, SJR State’s Criminal Justice Academy provides job-related training to prepare cadets for entry-level employment in the field. Upon completion of the certificate programs, cadets will be eligible to take the state certification exam. The certificates also provide credit hours that can be transferred to SJR State’s associate in science degree in criminal justice technology.
