SJR State law enforcement cadets recognized

Cadets from the St. Johns River State College Criminal Justice Academy were recently recognized for completing the Florida Law Enforcement Academy program.

The guest speaker was The Honorable Kenneth J. Janesk II, Circuit Judge, 7th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.

During the ceremony, Garret McAndrews was awarded for the Highest Academic Achiever, Malik Hamilton was awarded for Most Proficient in Firearms and Anaica Jean Charles was awarded with the Medallion Award.

The graduates include Dominic Agrela, Dean Bellantoni, Leityn Blake, Matthew Doyle-Sochan, Christian Fernandez, Maxwell Gailey, Porfirio Gonzalez, Owen Guernick, Malik Hamilton, Daejin Han, Anaica Jean Charles, Garret McAndrews, Isabella Siegfried, Austin Spuler, Chandler Usina, Loztris Vazquez-Gago, Austin Wallace, Tyler Western and Zachary Williamson.

Located at the St. Augustine campus, SJR State’s Criminal Justice Academy provides job-related training to prepare cadets for entry-level employment in the field. Upon completion of the certificate programs, cadets will be eligible to take the state certification exam. The certificates also provide credit hours that can be transferred to SJR State’s associate in science degree in criminal justice technology.

Applications for the new Bachelor of Science In Criminal Justice, Applied Intelligence Studies and the Associate in Science in Paralegal Studies are available online. Classes begin in August.
