READING ENDORSEMENT
St. Johns River State College is approved by the Florida Department of Education to offer the Reading Endorsement under the Just Read, Florida! initiative.
Florida certified teachers who wish to add the Reading Endorsement to a valid Florida Professional Certificate may complete a sequence of three courses that address the state-required reading competencies. The courses must be taken in sequence and may be completed in as little as three semesters.
All courses are offered online.
Completion of the coursework does not automatically result in the addition of the Reading Endorsement to a valid Florida Professional Certificate. Candidates must submit official transcripts to the Florida Department of Education for review and verification of eligibility for the Reading Endorsement.

1. Apply to SJR State*
Students applying for the Reading Endorsement will need to apply as a Non-Degree Seeking Student for Admit Type, Teacher Certification as their Program Category, and Teacher Certification/Renewal as their Program of Interest.
Application Deadlines:

2. Upload a Residency form and a copy of either a Statement of Eligibility or Teaching Certificate in the supplemental items area with the online application. You can access a copy of your Statement of Eligibility or Teaching Certificate on the FLDOE Versa portal.
3. Contact the Teacher Education office prior to registration for next steps.
