DUAL ENROLLMENT, EARLY ADMISSION, EARLY COLLEGE PROGRAM

STEPS TO GET STARTED IN THE SJR STATE DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM AS A PUBLIC, PRIVATE, OR CHARTER SCHOOL STUDENT:
Step 1 - Consult Your School Counselor: Contact your school counselor to confirm you meet the eligibility requirements for dual enrollment. Once your school counselor confirms you meet the criteria, you can begin the process below. If you complete the dual enrollment application and are not qualified, your application will not be processed.
Step 2 - Test Scores: Be sure you have a placement test to provide with your completed application, if you have not taken the ACT or SAT, you can schedule the PERT through the SJR State Testing Center.
Step 3 - New Student Orientation: Complete the online New Student Orientation. You may access the orientation by clicking the “New Student Orientation” link. When you apply online and sign the consent page, you are confirming that you have watched and understood the orientation. Step 4 - Online Dual Enrollment Application: Submit an online SJR State Dual Enrollment application. Access the Guide To Apply Online. Once you have completed and submitted the online application, you must print out the Dual Enrollment Consent Form for your high school counselor to sign (it will be the final page of the online application). Be sure to write down your X number and log in information for future use.
Step 5 - Registration Form: Complete the SJR State Dual Enrollment Registration Form. You will need your SJR State X number for this form. Our office does not accept any form without an X number. Students should meet with their high school counselor to assist with filling out the registration form, to ensure that not only college credit will be achieved but applicable high school credit. Step 6 - Final Packet of Information: Bring your Dual Enrollment Consent Page, a copy of your test scores, and your registration form to your high school counselor for submission. Please be sure that you are checking our Dates and Deadlines Information. Please allow up to two weeks for processing of your Dual Enrollment paperwork. The Principles of Participation form does not need to be returned.
Step 7 - MySJRstate: Log in to your MySJRstate account (SJRstate.edu, top right-hand corner). Access Navigating Your MySJRstate Account for complete log in instructions.
Step 8 - Student Schedules: Students are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their Dual Enrollment schedule. Please check your Concise Student Schedule under the Student tab in your MySJRstate account. If you see a balance on your schedule or incorrect or missing courses, please email our office. When you email, be sure to include your SJR State X number and the course that is incorrect or missing from your schedule, and we will return your email with an appropriate solution. Step 9 - Textbooks: Public and charter school students are provided their textbooks through their school district instructional services department. SJR State is not responsible for providing any textbooks to public or charter school students. Private school students need to bring their printed SJR State Dual Enrollment schedule to a campus bookstore to receive their textbooks. All Dual Enrollment classes that are offered on a high school site (public, private, or charter schools) those textbooks are the responsibility of that school. Step 10 - Student Accommodations (if needed): If you are receiving any disability services at your high school, these services do not automatically transfer to SJR State when you become a dual enrollment student. You will need to visit you nearest Advising Center to work with an advisor to determine if those same services can be provided here at SJR State College Disability Services.
Step 1 – Print and Complete the Homeschool Packet Checklist
Print this checklist to track the required documents for admissions. Check off each box and attach the corresponding document as you complete each step. Once all boxes are checked, sign the checklist to confirm that all documents are included. Submit this signed checklist as the cover sheet with all the documents listed in Step 7. Do not send documents separately; submit everything together as one packet. Incomplete packets will not be processed.
Step 2 - Submit the Online Dual Enrollment Application
Complete the online SJR State Dual Enrollment application. Access the Guide To Apply Online. During the application process, print out the Dual Enrollment Consent Form. Ensure that your parents signs on the designated "high school counselor" signature line. Note your X number from the final screen for future reference.
Step 3 - Provide Test Scores
Submit a copy of your placement test scores. Accepted tests include the ACT, SAT, PERT, PSAT, or CLT. If you have not taken any of these tests, schedule the PERT through the SJR State Testing Center. Do not have the scores sent directly to the college. Test scores are used for Math and English placement, and no specific scores are required for admissions. Step 4 - Complete the Homeschool Verification Form
Register with your county’s school district as a homeschool student. Fill out the top half of the home school verification form. The bottom portion must be completed and signed by the county representative:

** If your student was awarded the PEP Scholarship, please provide the award information in the bottom portion of the form. **
Step 5 - Sign the Homeschool Articulation Agreement
Review and sign the homeschool articulation agreement for the current academic year. Include a copy of the signed signature page in your final packet (see Step 7). Read the agreement thoroughly.
Step 6 - Compile and Submit the Final Admissions Packet
Ensure that your packet includes all required documents:
• Signed Dual Enrollment Checklist (Step 1)
• Dual Enrollment Consent Page (from Step 2)
• Copy of your test scores (Step 3)
• Completed Homeschool Verification Form (Step 4)
• Signature page from the Articulation Agreement (Step 5)
Email these documents to for processing. Complete submission and approval are necessary before setting up your SJR State student account. Check our Dates and Deadlines Information for important dates.
Step 7 - MySJRstate:
Log in to your MySJRstate account (SJRstate.edu, top right-hand corner). Refer to the Navigating Your MySJRstate Account for complete log-in instructions. Please allow two weeks for processing after submitting your paperwork in Step 6 before attempting to create your student account.
Step 8: Complete the Online Orientation through Canvas
Once your MySJRstate account is set up, access the Canvas platform to complete the online New Student Orientation. You will find this orientation under the "Courses" section in Canvas. Ensure you complete this orientation as it provides important information and requirements for your dual enrollment experience.
Step 9: Complete the SJR State Dual Enrollment Registration Form
After you have completed the online orientation (step 8), please complete the SJR State Dual Enrollment Registration Form. You will need your SJR State X number for this form. Parent signatures are required on the “high school counselor” signature lines. Submit this form to Michele Menadue at for final review. Please note that due to the volume of Dual Enrollment students needing to be processed, your schedule will not reflect immediately after submitting your registration form.
Step 10: Verify and Adjust Your Student Schedule
Check your Concise Student Schedule under the Student tab in your MySJRstate account to ensure its accuracy. If there are any errors or missing courses, email with your SJR State X number and details of the issue. Emails without specific course information will not receive a response due to volume.
Step 11: Obtain Textbooks
Textbooks are provided through the SJR State Bookstore. Bring a printed copy of your schedule to the bookstore to collect your textbooks. You must sign a rental agreement, agreeing to return the textbooks by the semester’s end. Failure to return textbooks may result in fines, removal from future courses, or removal from the dual enrollment program. Textbooks/materials/access codes cannot be picked up until you have attended at least one class.
Step 12: Arrange Student Accommodations (if needed)
To receive accommodations at SJR State, visit the nearest Advising Center and work with the Disabilities Coordinator to determine if services can be provided. For more information, visit SJR State College Disability Services.
INITIAL ELIGIBILITY
In order for students to participate in Dual Enrollment, Early Admission or the Early College Program thorough SJR State, they must meet the following initial requirements:
- Student must be enrolled in a Florida public or private secondary school or home education program in Clay, Putnam, or St. Johns Counties.
- Minimum 3.0 unweighted high school grade point average (GPA).
- Have taken a placement test that is less than two years old (Florida Statue 1008.30). Students may use the ACT, SAT, or PERT. Students who wish to enroll an English/Communications or Mathematics courses must have a college-ready, qualifying score. For ENC 1101, students must have both the qualifying reading and writing score.
- Students who wish to enroll in a course that does not require a certain test score (excluding English and Mathematics courses) only need to provide a set of test scores, there is no set test score required.

Dual Enrollment students who have not taken the ACT or SAT, may register to take the PERT through one of SJR State’s Testing Center locations.
